Viet Nam establishes diplomatic relations with Caribbean countries

(Vietnamplus - 02/11/2013) - Two joint communiqués on establishing diplomatic ties between Viet Nam and Caribbean countries were signed on November 1 at the United Nations, New York.

The signatories included Vietnamese Ambassador to the UN Le Hoai Trung, Ambassador of the Saint Kitts and Nevis Federation Delano Frank, and Ambassador of the Commonwealth of Dominica Vince Henderson.

The official establishment of such ties manifests Viet Nam’s policies of expanding, diversifying and developing its relations with the Caribbean countries and the Latin America in general.

It also helps enhance bilateral relations for mutual benefits and deepens the friendship and multi-faceted cooperation between Viet Nam and the two Caribbean nations.

The signed documents will be submitted to Secretary General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon and made known to all members of the organisation
