Answer:
Vietnam is gravely concerned about the nuclear test conducted by the People Democratic Republic of Korea on October 9, 2006. The test will heighten tension, harming peace and stability in the region.
As a country in the region, Vietnam always wishes to see peace, stablity, cooperation and development in the Asia-Pacific region. We support peace, stability and denuclearization of the Korean peninsula.
We hope that the parties concerned would exercise utmost restraint, soon resume the six-party talks, narrow differences and reach a satisfactory solution to the nuclear issue on the Korean peninsula at an early date.
