Vietnam - Ecuador Relations
Diplomatic ties at ambassadorial level were established on January 1, 1980. The current Vietnamese Ambassador to Chile is also accredited as Ambassador to Ecuador and the Ecuadorian Ambassador to Malaysia is also serving as the Ambassador to Vietnam.
May 1998: Vietnam supported Ecuador’s admission to PECC.
May 2007: Mr. Dinh La Thang, Member of Party’s Central Committee and PetroVietnam Chairman, paid a visit to Ecuador.
August 2007: Vice Foreign Minister Le Van Bang paid a working visit to Ecuador and co-signed with his host Foreign Minister an Agreement on Visa Exemption for holders of Official and Diplomatic Passports.
