Japan to donate medical equipment to northeastern province
The Government of Japan will grant more than 85,000 USD worth of medical equipment to the Eye Centre in the northeastern province of Quang Ninh.
Documents on the aid were signed in Ha Noi on August 9 by Norio Hattori, Japanese Ambassador to Viet Nam, and Vu Thi Thu Thuy, Director of the Quang Ninh Health Department.
Ambassador Hattori said after the signing that: “I hope that with this project funded by the Government of Japan, medical equipment of Quang Ninh province will be considerably improved. I also hope that through this project, the friendship and mutual understanding between Japan and Viet Nam will be further deepened.”
Quang Ninh province is now home to around 40,000 ophthalmic patients, with 800 of them suffering from cataract and in need of operations every year.-(VNA)
