Thai companies to join exhibition in Viet Nam
Thailand’s Board of Investment (BoI) will take auto parts and electronics producers to the International Machine Tools and Metalworking Technology Exhibition 2007 in Viet Nam (Metalex Viet Nam 2007) next week.
The BoI hopes that Thai companies can position themselves to produce components for Japanese companies investing in the automobile and electronics industries in Viet Nam.
Chanin Kaochan, Head of BoI's Industrial Linkage Development unit, said he would bring a group of more than 10 parts and electronics makers to the event taking place between October 11th and 13th.
Currently, many foreign investors, particularly Japanese companies, have invested in the electronics industry in Viet Nam. But they still lack parts producers to supply needed products to them.
"It is a good opportunity for Thai manufacturers to expand the auto part and electronics market in Viet Nam before more investors from other countries and Viet Nam come in," Chanin was quoted by Thai News Agency as saying.-(VNA)
