Netherlands finances Binh Duong water project
The Netherlands will provide 7.44 million Euros in non-refundable aid for a 14.8 million Euro water supply project in southern Binh Duong province.
An agreement underscoring the aid was signed in Ha Noi on August 9 between the Finance Ministry and the Dutch Embassy in Viet Nam.
Tan Hiep water works with a capacity of 30,000 cu. m. will provide water for residents as well as for the Binh Duong industrial park, services and urban area.
According to Dutch Ambassador Andre’ Haspels, the scheme is part of a credit programme in support of exports that the Netherlands has worked on in Viet Nam since 1999.
The programme focuses on wastewater treatment, environmental hygiene, water supply and the building of rescue ships and optical cables.
The Netherlands provided 35 percent of the total cost of the programme in non-refundable aid and up to 50 percent for water supply and waste water treatment projects.- (VNA)
