Netherlands assists Vietnam with better water management
The Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Netherlands’ Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality held a meeting in Hanoi on September 20 to discuss water management in Vietnam.
Under a project to implement the Vietnam - Netherlands partnership programme on water for food and ecology, the Dutch government will help Vietnam design agricultural and aqua-culture policies for poverty reduction and sustainable development, particularly effective management of water resources in rural areas. The project will be carried out in the next two years.
Dutch experts on water resources said that Vietnam has a dense network of rivers and therefore its effective management of water resources will be a decisive factor for sustainable development. (VOV)
