Ha Noi, Oct. 22 (VNA) - Deputy Prime Minister Vu Khoan has expressed his thanks to the United Nations and other international organisations for their support and assistance to Viet Nam's socio-economic development and administrative reform.
Speaking to UN bodies' chief representatives in Ha Noi on Friday, Khoan emphasised that Viet Nam highly values the UN's role in maintaining world peace and promoting the development of nations.
UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative, Jordan D. Ryan, thanked the Vietnamese Government for their support to the UN's role as well as its efforts to make the UN more lively and effective.
The guests briefed his host of medium-term issues relating to the quality of economic development, the access to high-quality social services, national management for development and Vietnamese youth before HIV/AIDS challenges in the transitional period.
