Ha Noi (VNA) - National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Van An received Men Sam-on, President of the Cambodia-Viet Nam Friendship Parliamentarians' Group in Ha Noi on Monday.
Men Sam-on, who is also Minister for Relations with Parliament and Inspection, has been in Viet Nam to attend celebrations of her country's 51st National Day (Nov. 9).
Chairman An praised Men Sam-on's contributions to the development of the traditional friendship between the two countries and expressed his pleasure at Cambodia's achievements in all fields.
He praised Cambodia for having successfully organised the 25th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliament Organisation (AIPO) last September.
He asked the Cambodian Minister to convey his best regards to Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni and parliament leaders, and expressed his desire that mutual understanding, solidarity, trust and cooperation between the two countries would be further boosted. He stated that the Vietnamese National Assembly strongly supports the Government in strengthening relations and implementing cooperation agreements with Cambodia.
Men Sam-on attributed a great deal of Cambodia's achievement over the past 51 years to contributions from the international community, especially assistance from the Vietnamese people.
The same day, Vu Mao, Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee for External Relations and President of the Viet Nam-Cambodia Friendship Association, had a working session with the Cambodian Minister.
