UN contributions to Viet Nam's socio-economic development praised


New York (VNA) - Deputy Foreign Minister Le Van Bang praised UN agencies' contributions to Viet Nam's socio-economic development in the dialogue on "UN Development Cooperation: reforms, resources and results" in New York on Monday.

 

Viet Nam needs UN agencies' assistance and will try to make bilateral cooperation more effective, affirmed the Vietnamese diplomat.

 

He said that the UN should reform and raise the regulation quality of its development organisations' activities.

 

The participants focused their debate on policy orientation, challenges, achievements and prospects for the development of the role of the UN system in helping nations carry out their development strategy and the Millennium Development Goals through its country-level activities.
