HCM City (VNA) --Viet Nam, Cambodia will work out solutions to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in fighting crimes, especially the trafficking of women and children, affirmed attendees of a two-day conference which opened in Ho Chi Minh City on Tuesday.

In recent years, the two countries' police forces have boosted their coordination in order to discover and get rid of numerous cases of trafficking women and children. However, the situation has remained complicated.

The conference agreed that the two sides should continue closely cooperating and effectively implementing the agreements signed to bolster the endeavour.

The police of localities lying along the common borderline were urged to further strengthen coordination, and exchange information with a view to preventing illegal cross-border travel.

The participants also agreed that Viet Nam and Cambodia should sign more bilateral agreements and memorandums of understanding to ease the struggle against trafficking in women and children.
