Japan grants aid to vocational training schools

Hai Phong (VNA) -- The Japanese Embassy on Thursday handed over engineering facilities worth 83,835 USD to the Hai Phong Civil Engineering Vocational Training School.

The donation is part of the Japanese Government's non-refundable aid to localities in Viet Nam in the 2004 fiscal year.

These facilities, which employ the latest welding, cutting and lathe machineries of Japan, aim to help the trainees meet the growing demands of the labour market.

Established in 1969, the Hai Phong Civil Engineering Vocational Training School has been involved in training welding workers for the city and surrounding localities.

Last week, the Japanese Embassy signed a 80,000 USD contract to help upgrade facilities for the Thai Binh Vocational Training School.
