Japan, Viet Nam's important partner in economic development


Ha Noi, Nov. 23 (VNA) - Japan is an important partner in Viet Nam's economic development, said Deputy Prime Minister Vu Khoan while receiving President of Japanese Keidanren's Japan-Viet Nam Economic Cooperation Commission Motoyuki Oka in Ha Noi on Tuesday.

 

Khoan expressed his hope that Japan would support Viet Nam in negotiations for accession to the World Trade Organisation (WTO). He praised the Japan-Viet Nam joint initiative signed a year ago and efforts by the commission in boosting economic cooperation, and trade and investment between the two countries in the recent past.

 

Khoan introduced his guest to Viet Nam's economic development situation and the favourable conditions as well as potential for the two sides to accelerate cooperation in many fields.

 

Motoyuki Oka highly praised Viet Nam's efforts in implementing the joint initiative and added that the two countries should further boost cooperation in economy, commerce, investment, science and technology. He said that the commission has called on Japanese groups and businesses to expand cooperation with Viet Nam.
