Ha Noi, Nov. 30 (VNA) - An additional 50 Vietnamese workers on Monday left for the Republic of Korea (RoK) under the RoK's new law on foreign labour, bringing the number under the programme to 440.
According to the law, foreigners enjoy equal obligations and rights with Korean workers, so they, including Vietnamese workers, will have more chances to get jobs in the RoK, said officials from the Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs.
Viet Nam expects to send 6,000 people to work in the RoK this year, 2,000 more than 2003.
In 2004, the RoK is expected to recruit around 500,000 guest workers. The RoK's small and medium enterprises are estimated to need 133,000 more labourers.
