Binh Duong (VNA) - Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung expressed his pleasure at the results of the Viet Nam-Japan cooperation in atomic energy during his meeting with President Shunsuke Kondo of the Atomic Energy Society of Japan (AESJ) in Ha Noi on Tuesday.

Deputy PM Dung hailed President Kondo and the AESJ delegates' participation in the fifth Asian nuclear cooperation forum in Ha Noi.

"Viet Nam-Japan cooperative ties have developed in various fields," the deputy PM said, noting that Japan is now Viet Nam's largest ODA donor and largest trading partner in terms of science and education.

He said he hoped that bilateral multi-faceted cooperation, especially in nuclear energy, will be further developed.

President Kondo informed his host of Japan's nuclear energy research and development as well as the two countries' cooperation in training, conducting research, developing and using nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. He shared deputy PM Dung's wish for further development of bilateral ties in the field.
