Religious dignitaries pay New Year's visit to Party Mass Mobilisation Commission


Ha Noi (VNA) - A delegation of the Viet Nam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) and the Ha Noi Archdiocese on Jan. 31 paid a well-wishing visit to the Commission for Mass Mobilisation of the Party Central Committee on the occasion of Tet.

Most Venerable Thich Thanh Tu, head of the VBS Executive Council, and Bishop Ngo Quang Kiet thanked the Party, State and the Commission for Mass Mobilisation for their efforts to create favourable conditions for the VBS's operation. He promised that the VBS will keep to the principle of "The way of Buddha - the Nation and Socialism". The VBS will continue encouraging monks, nuns and believers to follow the Party and State's policies, and unite to strive for peace and national development.

Head of the Mass Mobilisation Commission Tong Thi Phong affirmed the Party and State's policy to respect religious freedom. She expressed her hope that clerics will call upon believers to participate in emulation movements for national construction.
