Young overseas Vietnamese, local friends meet
HCM City (VNA) - Young overseas Vietnamese, who are on a visit to their native country on the occasion of the traditional New Year festival, met local young people in Ho Chi Minh City on Feb. 6.
Bui Ta Hoang Vu, Deputy Chairman of the municipal Youth Union, introduced the city's young people's movements in 2004 and plans for 2005. He expressed his hope that young overseas Vietnamese would engage in these movements and contribute to national construction in the future.
Collin Thuy Ngan, who is working at Australia's Melbourne University, expressed her joy at the country's social and economic progresses in recent past, and praised the young people's movements.
All young overseas Vietnamese at the meeting expressed their wish to contribute to the homeland construction and further boost exchanges with local friends./.
