Viet Nam, Cuba boost co-operation


Havana (VNA)  A delegation of the Vietnamese Embassy and representative agencies in Cuba visited the central province of Villa Clara last week.

During the visit, aimed at boosting friendship and co-operation between Viet Nam and Cuba, the delegation, led by Ambassador Pham Tien Tu, laid wreaths at the memorial site of Ernesto Che Guevara and his comrades in Santa Clara town. They also met with the people of the Revolution Protection Committee "Heroic Viet Nam", and Vietnamese students, and visited some cultural, historical and tourist sites in the province.

While receiving the delegation, Roberto Lopez, General Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, highlighted solidarity and comprehensive co-operation between Cuba and Viet Nam over the past 50 years.

Ambassador Tu expressed his hope to boost bilateral economic co-operation on par with current political ties, friendship and solidarity of the two countries.
