Contracts to export 150,000 tonnes of rubber signed
(VNA): Enterprises under the Vietnam Rubber Corporation have so far this year signed contracts to export 150,000 tonnes of rubber products to the US, EU, Singapore and China.
The figure represents 60% of their planned export volume of 280,000 tonnes.
This year, rubber export markets continue to show optimistic trends, the corporation said.
On the world market, rubber prices stand at US $1,270 per tonne, US $40 higher than January. Meanwhile, prices of rubber at Vietnam-China bordergates reached 400,000 Chinese Yuan per tonne, nearly 100,000 Yuan more than the last month.
Vietnam aims to export 400,000 tonnes of rubber worth US $600 million this year, according to the Vietnam Rubber Association (VNRA).
The Vietnam Rubber Corporation alone aims to contribute around 280,000 tonnes, 30,000 tonnes more than last year's figure.
To that end, the corporation plans to launch more trade promotion programmes overseas to advertise its products in new markets. It has opened representative offices in New York, Moscow, Nanning (China), and Kiev (Ukraine). At present, Vietnam's rubber has been sold to 46 countries./.
