NA delegation visits Cambodia to boost bilateral agreements implementation
(VNA): A delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly's External Relations Committee led by its Head Vu Mao is now in Phnom Penh on a field trip to Cambodia, which began on February 17. Also participating in the delegation is a group of business people, who are accompanying law makers to monitor the progress made in implementing bilateral agreements in Cambodia and boost comprehensive co-operation between the two countries, especially between the two legislatures. In his separate meetings with leaders of the host country's National Assembly, Senate and Government, Vu Mao, who doubles as President of the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association, expressed satisfaction at the fine development in relations between the two National Assemblies in the recent past. He said he hoped that professional agencies under the two law-making bodies would further develop their bilateral ties in the years to come. For their part, National Assembly President Prince Norodom Ranariddh, Chairman of the Senate Chea Sim and Prime Minister Hun Sen of Cambodia all stressed the need to further develop bilateral friendly and co-operative ties in all fields, speed up the implementation of bilateral agreements, and particularly boost ties at provincial levels, thus strengthening and accelerating relations between the two peoples. Cambodian leaders pledged to create the most favourable conditions possible for Vietnamese business circles to invest in their country./. |
