NA Chairman An seeks all-out ties with Ukraine in talks with rights commissioner
Ha Noi (VNA)- National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Van An expressed his wish for stable living and working conditions for the Vietnamese community in the Ukraine while receiving Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Nina Karpachova on Feb. 22.
For her part, N. Karpachova, who is on a visit to Viet Nam, promised to pay more attention to the issue upon returning home. She said that in her capacity, she will speed up the ratification of a convention on immigration, which will create a legal foundation for foreign residents in the Ukraine.
Also on the agenda of their talks were economic ties, which Chairman An said the two countries should further boost to match their political relations and potential. He said the two countries also should promote cooperation in education and training as young generations will play a key role in the two countries' cooperative prospect.
In turn, N. Karpachova supported Viet Nam's bid to become a full member of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) by 2005 and expected that the two countries would open a direct air route between Ha Noi and Kiev soon./.
