France holds art exhibition on Viet Nam's first President

Paris (VNA)- An art exhibition entitled "Ho Chi Minh: a legendery man" kicked off in Saint Amand Les Eaux on March 4 in commemoration of the late president's 115th birth day. It drew a large number of visitors despite bad weather.

On display are more than 50 oil and lacquer paintings, photos and posters of President Ho Chi Minh which were collected by Dr. Jean Michel Damien during his working mission to Viet Nam.

Mayor Alain Boquet of Saint Amand Les Eaux city said at the event that the exhibition is an opportunity for people to remember the late President Ho's life and revolutionary cause, which has been part of the long-standing Viet Nam-France friendship. He said he hoped that the two countries' relations would continue to develop.

His view was echoed by Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Dinh Bin. He said President Ho was the first to pave a foundation for the friendly relationship between Viet Nam and France./.
