Viet Nam Culture Day held in Russia
Moscow (VNA) - A Viet Nam Culture Day was held in Moscow on Mar. 3 by the Association of Vietnamese Students at the Moscow State Automobile and Road Technical University (MADI).
The culture day, aimed at marking Viet Nam's big anniversaries in 2005, including anniversaries of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (Feb. 3) and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (Mar. 26), was attended by Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Nguyen Van Nganh and MADI Rector Viacheslav Prikhodko.
Rector Prikhodko said over the past 45 years, MADI has provided undergraduate and postgraduate training for over 1,000 Vietnamese people, of which 42 have earned doctorate degrees. MADI is proud to assist Viet Nam in developing its economy through the upgrading and development of the country's transport systems. At present, MADI is preparing to sign training co-operation agreements with the Architecture, and Transport Colleges of Viet Nam.
Ambassador Nguyen Van Nganh highlighted MADI's contributions to training experts for Viet Nam, particularly its specialists' working days in Viet Nam to help upgrade the country's important transport works that were destroyed during the war. The diplomat also praised MADI's assistance in organising the culture day in Moscow.
The culture day included fashion shows of traditional dress, art performances, and photo, artcraft and handicraft exhibitions./.
