Lao President asks ambassador to further boost Vietnam-Laos relations


(VNA): Lao President Khamtay Siphandone has asked newly-appointed Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Huy Quang and the Vietnamese Embassy staff to work actively to enhance the close traditional relations between the Parties, the States and people of Laos and Vietnam.

The Lao President received Ambassador Quang in Vientiane on March 11 after he submitted his credentials. He asked the Vietnamese Ambassador to convey his best regards to Vietnamese Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh, President Tran Duc Luong and other Vietnamese Party and State leaders.

Ambassador Quang promised to do his best in his capacity to help strengthen and develop the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive co-operation between Vietnam and Laos, which were cherished and nurtured by late Presidents Ho Chi Minh and Kaysone Phomvihane and generations of leaders of both countries.

The Ambassador conveyed to President Khamtay Siphandone best regards from Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh, President Tran Duc Luong and other Vietnamese Party and State leaders./.
