Catholics Solidarity Committee contributes to patriotism movement

Ha Noi (VNA) - The patriotism movement of the Vietnamese Catholic community has been intensified in terms of both quality and quantity since the inception of the Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics (CSVC).

The CSVC President, priest Nguyen Tan Khoa, made the affirmation at a press briefing on the 50th anniversary of the CSVC in Ha Noi on Mar. 16.

The CSVC was established in March 1955 under the name the Liaison Committee for Patriotic and Peace-Loving Catholics. The committee has defined one of its important tasks as the fight against treacherous schemes under the religious cloak to divide the Vietnamese people. It has also focused on mobilising the strength of the Catholic community for the construction and development of the motherland.

The CSVC now has chapters in 37 cities and provinces nationwide. They have initiated many movements and activities, which have received warm responses from Catholic followers.
