Central Highlands provinces boost ties with Cambodia


Phnom Penh (VNA) - A delegation of Dac Lac and Dac Nong provinces in the Central Highlands, headed by Dac Lac Party Committee' s Secretary Y Luyen Nie Kdam, concluded a three-day working visit to Cambodia on Mar. 17.

The visit was made at the invitation of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen.

During a meeting with the delegation, PM Hun Sen called for closer cooperation between the two countries' border provinces, saying that it will help develop the economy, improve people's living conditions and stabilise security in the border areas.

The delegation also held working sessions with the authorities of Mondulkiri province and officials of the provincial industrial, forestry and agricultural sectors, and home affairs.

Enterprises from Dac Lac and Dac Nong provinces pledged to continue work to devise some projects on energy, transport, construction materials, personnel training, construction of medical establishments and agro-forestry services.

The two sides agreed upon measures to maintain security in the border areas.
