French locality wants to boost bilateral cooperation
Paris (VNA) - Noyant d'Allier Mayor Michel Lafay spoke highly of the Vietnamese community's contributions to the local socio-economic development, revealing his plan to build a Vietnamese village as part of Noyant d'Allier's world cultural centre.
He was working with Minister Counsellor at the Vietnamese Embassy in France Nguyen Quang Chien who was on a working visit to Noyant d'Allier, Allier province, Auvergne region, to boost bilateral cooperation between Viet Nam and the French locality.
During the visit, which was part of the fifth international cooperation week launched by Allier province, Chien also worked with the Deputy governor of Allier province, and the Deputy chairman of the Council of Auvergne region.
The Mayor wished to cooperate with Viet Nam in agriculture, animal husbandry and cultural exchange, adding that Noyant d'Allier wants to set up sisterhood ties with a Vietnamese mining locality because it used to have high-quality coal mines in the early 20th century.
For his part, Chien stated Viet Nam's external policies for peace, friendship and cooperation with all countries in the world. He highlighted the country's socio-economic achievements over recent years and said that Viet Nam is willing to join Noyant d'Allier to set up specific projects for mutual benefits.
Chien expressed his thanks to the government and people of Noyant d'Allier for their support and assistance to the Vietnamese community in the city over the past 50 years.
