HCM City celebrates International Francophone Day
HCM City (VNA) - Many activities are running in Ho Chi Minh City to mark International Francophone Day (Mar. 20).
On Mar. 21, Follenn and Pascal Lamour, an instrumental and vocal music band performed on the IDECAF stage, beginning its two-week tour of Viet Nam to introduce the Vietnamese audience to traditional music of France's Bretagne region.
On many small stages, students of French departments of many local universities are organising festivals, during which they are highlighting French culture or holding song contests.
The Union of Friendship Organisations and the Viet Nam - France Friendship Society are also holding ceremonies to celebrate International Francophone Day.
For this occasion, the Francophone House in Ho Chi Minh City has announced the achievements it has made over the past four years. The House, whose computer network is connected with those of 14 other organisations within the Francophone Community, has helped many women, students and entrepreneurs in the community share their experiences and learn about the cultures of their respective countries.
