Party leader starts official visit to Laos
General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Nong Duc Manh and his wife today begin their official friendship visit to Laos at the invitation of Chairman of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and State President Khamtay Siphandon.
Party leader Nong Duc Manh is accompanied by Nguyen Tan Dung, Politburo member, permanent Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Vietnam-Laos Co-operation Sub-committee; Truong Tan Sang, Politburo member and Director of the Party's Economic Commission; Party Central Committee members Nguyen Van Son, Ngo Van Du and Ho Tien Nghi; and other officials.
He is scheduled to hold talks with President Khamtay Siphandone and meet with the Lao National Assembly and Government leaders to work out bilateral co-operation strategy for the future.
