Top RoK legislative leader wants to boost ties with Viet Nam
Seoul (VNA) - The top legislative leader of the Republic of Korea (RoK) has said his country wants to expand multi-faceted cooperation with Viet Nam, in particular through exchanges and dialogues between the two legislative bodies.
RoK National Assembly (NA) Chairman Kim Won-ki also told visiting Vietnamese NA Deputy Chairman Truong Quang Duoc in Seoul on April 11 that the RoK people hold fine sentiments towards the Vietnamese people, admire Viet Nam's history and culture and wish Viet Nam further development. He spoke highly of Viet Nam's policy of "let bygones be bygones" and cooperating for development and peace.
NA Deputy Chairman Duoc said that the Vietnamese people support the peaceful unification process on the Korean peninsular, thus contributing to building regional and world peace and stability.
He emphasised that Viet Nam wants to promote cooperative relations with the RoK and asked the RoK to support Viet Nam's international integration and its bid to join the World Trade Organisation (WTO).
The Vietnamese NA Deputy Chairman conveyed to NA Chairman Kim Won-ki the best regards and an invitation to visit Viet Nam from his Vietnamese counterpart, Nguyen Van An./.
