Viet Nam, Libya mark 30th anniversary of diplomatic ties


Ha Noi, Apr. 14 (VNA) - A ceremony to mark the 30th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Viet Nam and the Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahirya was held in Ha Noi on April 14.

Addressing the ceremony, President of the Viet Nam Committee for Solidarity with the Libyan People Nguyen Tan Trinh said the anniversary was an important event for both nations. He stressed that Viet Nam always keeps in mind the fine sentiments and assistance that the Libyan people gave to Viet Nam during the past struggle for national independence as well as the present cause of national construction. The two countries, he said, are currently strengthening the fine cooperation in the interests of the two nations, thus contributing to the struggle for a peaceful, equal and developed world.

For his part, Mustafa A.A. Shaban, Charge d'Affaires of the Libyan People's Bureau in Viet Nam, said his country wished to strengthen the traditional relations with Viet Nam and to boost the economic cooperation to match the political relations in the interests of the two peoples.
