Defence delegation visits Cambodia
(VNA) - A delegation of senior officers of the Defence Ministry, led by Vice Defence Minister Senior Lieutenant-General Phan Trung Kien, has paid a working visit to Cambodia.
While there, the delegation was received by Prime Minister Hun Sen and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Tia Banh. The meetings took place in an atmosphere of international solidarity.
PM Hun Sen expressed his profound gratitude to the Vietnamese Government and people. He said that the Vietnamese defence delegation's visit to Cambodia was an encouragement to the Cambodian army and people in implementing the Cambodian Government's quadrilateral political programme.
Senior Lt. Gen. Phan Trung Kien thanked the Cambodian Royal Government and Army for their assistance to the task forces of Military Zones 5, 7, and 9 of the Viet Nam People's Army in searching and repatriating remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers, who died in Cambodia during the war.
The delegation visited a number of military zones and army corps, as well as hospitals and schools built with assistance from the Vietnamese Military Zone./.
