Viet Nam hands over French soldiers' remains
(VNA) - The northwestern province of Dien Bien on May 10 handed over 17 sets of remains of French servicemen, who died 50 years ago on the Dien Bien Phu battlefield, to the French Embassy in Viet Nam.
The remains were found in a construction site along the Nam Ron river near the Muong Thanh bridge area.
Gilbert Genery, Deputy Military Attache of the French Embassy, thanked Dien Bien province for the handover and its help in completing procedures to repatriate these remains to France.
