NA Chairman receives Cambodian Senate's First Vice President
(VNA): National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Van An welcomed Cambodia's First Vice President of the Cambodian Senate Sisowath Chican Monirak, who is currently on a visit to Viet Nam.
Viet Nam attaches great importance to the development of the friendly relationship with neighbouring Cambodia, and wishes to foster lasting and all-round cooperation between the two countries for mutual benefit and development, An affirmed.
He stressed: "Basing ourselves on friendship, mutual respect, understanding and trust, we are able to resolve all matters and both Viet Nam and Cambodia have much to do to raise our people's living standards."
An took the occasion to wish his guest a successful visit to Viet Nam, and ask him to convey his best regards to Samdec Norodom Sihanouk, King Norodom Sihamoni and other leading Cambodian officials.
Mr. Sisowath Chican Monirak agreed with his host's opinions about the relations between the two countries. He spoke highly of Viet Nam's socio-economic achievements, particularly those in rural development and poverty reduction, saying these have encouraged Cambodia to increase its efforts for the same purpose.
On the same day, National Assembly Vice Chairman Truong Quang Duoc held a working session with the Cambodian guest. The two sides informed each other of the situations in their respective countries and exchanged views on cooperation between the two legislatures.
