Deputy PM Vu Khoan welcomes US guests
(VNA) - Deputy Prime Minister Vu Khoan welcomed in Ha Noi on June 4 American guests who have been here for a forum entitled "Viet Nam-US relations: The Way Ahead".
The delegation, led by former US ambassador in Viet Nam Peter Peterson, included representatives from non-governmental organisations, scholars, researchers and social activists.
The Deputy PM said that the forum was significant, especially as it took place when the two countries were approaching the 10th anniversary of the normalisation of diplomatic relations. He reviewed the bilateral ties in the previous 10 years and expressed his wish for further cooperation in the fields of trade, investment and technology.
He also expressed his hope that the delegates would contribute to consolidating and developing the friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
