(VNA) - Prime Minister Phan Van Khai sent a message of sympathy to Chinese State Council Prime Minister Wen Jiabao and victims of the recent floods that caused heavy losses in lives and property to China's southern provinces.
The Vietnamese leader said he believed that, under the leadership of the Chinese Party and Government, the flood victims will rapidly overcome the consequences of the natural calamity, and will restore their daily lives and production activities to normal.
The floods hit Zhejiang, Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, Guangdong, and Quangxi provinces, affecting the lives and production of tens of millions of local people.
