Vice President receives overseas Vietnamese youths
(VNA): Vice President Truong My Hoa has described overseas Vietnamese teenagers and youths as important human resources of the nation.
Speaking with young overseas Vietnamese, who have returned home for the 2005 Vietnam Summer Camp in Hanoi on July 9, the Vietnamese leader said the organisation of the camp reflects the Party and Government's consistent policy of always regarding overseas Vietnamese, including teenagers and youths, as part of the community.
Vice President Hoa expressed hope that by joining the camp, overseas Vietnamese youths will gain more understanding of their motherland, and therefore feel proud of the national tradition and have stronger feeling toward the nation.
"Young overseas Vietnamese should join their brothers and sisters at home to turn Vietnam into a prosperous nation, winning increasing prestige in the region and the world," the Vice President said.
On behalf of the participants, four Cambodian, Danish, Czech and French Vietnamese expressed their gratitude to the Party and State for paying attention to young overseas Vietnamese. They pledged to try their best to contribute to the construction of a democratic, prosperous and civilised Vietnamese nation./.
