Embassy in Japan promotes Vietnam's business environment

The Vietnamese Embassy in Tokyo on July 22 organised a symposium to help Japanese businesspeople learn more about changes and progress in Vietnam's investment environment recently.

At the event, which drew representatives from more than 180 Japanese economic organisations and businesses, Vietnamese Ambassador Chu Tuan Cap underlined that Vietnam has been striving to further improve its investment and business environment  to attract a greater amount of foreign investment, including Japanese investment.

Meanwhile, Economic Counselor Ha Kim Ngoc discussed with potential Japanese investors the latest progress in Vietnam's negotiations for entry into the World Trade Organisation, as well as the country's undertakings of CEPT/AFTA commitments.

Japanese experts on Vietnam reported that their country's investment into Vietnam has soared sharply since mid-2004.

They attributed the rise to the Vietnamese government's business friendly policies, the country's socio-political stability, the maintenance of a high economic growth rate, as well as the abundance of natural resources and an industrious workforce.

They pointed to the Vietnamese government's flexible foreign policy of multilateralisation, particularly its policy to balance its ties with big countries, and efforts to complete a legal system to encourage investors.
