Hungary considers Vietnam as shortest way to enter Southeast Asia
(VNA): "Vietnam is the shortest way for Hungary to enter Southeast Asia," said Hungarian Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsany on July 21.
Speaking with National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Van An in a meeting in Hanoi, the Hungarian leader also pledged further efforts to bolster the traditional friendship and comprehensive co-operation between the two countries in the future.
Both Chairman An and Prime Minister Gyurcsany stressed the need to boost bilateral business and trade ties to match them to the fine political relations between the two countries.
Chairman An expressed a desire to enhance legislative ties between the two countries' law-making bodies, which would strengthen mutual development.
An took this occasion to thank the Hungarian Government and people for their valuable assistance to Vietnam in its past struggle for national independence, as well as its present national construction and development growth. He congratulated the Hungarian people on their important successes in national development and their integration into the European Union.
