Vietnam highly regards ties with Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference
(VNA): Vietnam values co-operation between the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference greatly amid complicated developments in the international and regional arena, said President Tran Duc Luong.
Meeting with Jia Quinglin, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), in Beijing on July 20, President Luong underscored that Vietnam has attaches importance to boosting reliable ties with China.
"The signing of the land boundary treaty, the upcoming establishment of joint patrol in the Tonkin Gulf and co-operation agreements signed between the two countries, armies and police forces will be significant in the current situation," he stressed.
President Luong told the Chinese official that while reviewing the country's 20-year renovation process, the Communist Party of Vietnam has stressed the important role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) for national unity.
He expressed hope that the CPPCC and the VFF would increase their co-operation to enhance the two countries' friendly ties.
CPPCC Chairman Jia agreed with the Vietnamese leader's assessment on the two countries' relations and thanked the President for his support for the two countries mass organisations and associations under the guidelines agreed by their leaders.
As both countries have been strengthening socialism while also reforming the economy, China is willing to share its experiences with Vietnam in order to consolidate their solidarity and deepen bilateral ties, the Chinese official noted.
Chairman Jia said that the CPPCC and the VFF are important segments of their party as they gather different circles around their party for national development. He stressed that China appreciates the exchange of experiences between the two bodies.
