Get-together marks Singapore's National Day in Ho Chi Minh City
(VNA) - The Viet Nam Union of Friendship Associations and the Viet Nam-Singapore Friendship Association hosted a gathering in Ho Chi Minh City on August 8 to mark Singapore's 40th National Day (August 9).
Nguyen Thanh Rum, president of the Viet Nam-Singapore Friendship Association, and Jimmy Chua, Singporean Consul General in HCM City, applauded the growing ties between the two countries in all fields, from politics, culture and education to trade and tourism. Singaporean investors currently have more than 350 projects in Viet Nam worth a combined 3.5 billion USD.
The Singaporean Consulate General and the Singapore Business Association in HCM City have participated in many humanitarian activities and granted scholarships to poor local students.
