Israel wants to boost cooperation with Viet Nam, says President

(VNA) - Israel wants to strengthen cooperation with Viet Nam for the benefit of both countries, said Israeli President Moshe Katsav while receiving newly-accredited Vietnamese Ambassador to Israel Le Tien Ba in Jerusalem on September 15.

President Katsav spoke highly of Viet Nam's great achievements during its current renewal process, particularly in economic development.

The Israeli President also appreciated Viet Nam's role in the international arena and expressed his hope that the country will make more contributions to peace and stability in the Middle East region and the world at large.

On this occasion, President Katsav renewed his invitation to President Tran Duc Luong to visit Israel. He conveyed his best regards to Vietnamese leaders and wished the Vietnamese people greater success in the national construction and development process.

Ambassador Ba thanked the Israeli President for his appreciation of Viet Nam and pledged to try his utmost to promote relations between Viet Nam and Israel.
