Viet Nam, Cambodia boost cooperation in transport

(VNA) - Transport ministries of Viet Nam and Cambodia have agreed to work more closely in the future on protocol on implementing the road transportation agreement between the two countries which will be signed as soon as possible.

The agreement was reached in Ha Noi on September 21 during a meeting between Dao Dinh Binh, Minister of Transport and Communications of Viet Nam and the visiting Cambodian Minister of Public Works and Transportation, Sun Chanthon.

The two sides also agreed to accelerate discussions to reach an on implementing the bilateral water-way transportation accord.

The ministers were pleased with their cooperation in carrying out transportation projects, including one to upgrade Road No. 78 of Cambodia.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed issues relating to developing cooperation under the framework of the Greater Mekong Sub-region in order to ensure long-term and sustainable benefits for the Vietnamese and Cambodian people.
