Viet Nam's seafood exports to China see slight increase

(VNA) - Viet Nam's seafood exports to China have so far this year fetched about 100 million USD, showing a slight increase against the corresponding period last year.

To expand export markets for Vietnamese seafood, the Ministry of Fisheries together with the Viet Nam Association for Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) will conduct a market survey programme in China's southern Yunnan province, and participate in a fair in Guangzhou from Nov. 10-12.

During the fair, Vietnamese seafood exporters and producers expect to establish cooperative ties with partners from all over the world.

Local experts view China as a potential market for Viet Nam's aquatic products in the years to come. However, the country's aquatic export volume to China has been very modest.

Local exporters have been advised to use train cars equipped with freezers to transport aquatic products to the neighbouring market in order to cut down costs./.
