Viet Nam signs agreement on Tamiflu production with F.Hofmann-Laroche
Under the agreement, F. Hofmann-Laroche will provide materials and technical assistance for Viet Nam to produce capsules of Tamiflu containing Oseltamivir phosphate in Viet Nam as soon as possible.
F.Hofmann-Laroche also pledged to help Viet Nam implement its plan for preparation and supply of medicines for treatment in case of a possible flu pandemic in Viet Nam.
Prof. Dr. Hoang Thuy Long, member of the National Steering Committee for Type A Flu Control, said the Central Hygiene and Epidemiology Institute has successfully test used type A flu vaccine on a group of monkeys, and is accomplishing the experimental use of the vaccine on human beings in order to produce vaccine against type A flu.
The same day, three governmental delegations led by Deputy Prime Ministers Pham Gia Khiem and Vu Khoan and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Mai Ai Truc inspected the preparations work to prevent outbreaks of bird flu epidemic and human flu pandemic in Hai Phong, Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, and Quang Ngai provinces./.
