Vietnamese, Singaporean PMs meet at ASEAN Summit

(VNA)- Prime Minister Phan Van Khai and his Singaporean counterpart Lee Hsien Loong agreed to quickly hasten the implementation of cooperative projects between the two countries in line with the spirit of their recently-signed framework agreement on economic link.

The two PMs made the agreement at their December 11 meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on the sidelines of the 11th ASEAN Summit.

These above-said projects were designed to attract investors from a third country into Viet Nam.

The two leaders said they were pleased with the two countries' framework agreement on economic cooperation as it will provide an important legal foundation to step up the two countries' bilateral cooperation for practical benefit.

The two PMs shared the same view on the need to increase unity and cooperation in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and to speed up the building of an ASEAN Community, which is supported by the three pillars of economy, security, and culture and society./.
