National Assembly Chairman visits Morocco

(VNA)- National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Van An arrived in Rabat on Dec. 22 beginning his first official visit to Morocco.

After being welcomed at the Sale airport by First Vice President of the Moroccan House of Representatives, D. Sentissi, Chairman An held talks with Abdelwahad Radi, President of the Moroccan House of Representatives Rabat.

The Moroccan House of Representatives President expressed his belief that Chairman An's visit would contribute to boosting relations between the two countries, lifting relationship between the two parliaments to a new height, and strengthening friendship between the two peoples.

Chairman An expressed said that Viet Nam and Morocco have many historical similarities, and that the two developing countries are facing challenges of globalisation. The two countries have great potential for cooperation, especially in economy, he said.

The two leaders expressed their satisfaction at the smooth development of relations between the two countries, particularly the two parliaments. They both hoped that the two law making bodies would further promote exchange of visits, information and experiences in the coming period as well as closely cooperate in international organisations and forums.

The two leaders signed an agreement on cooperation between the Moroccan House of Representatives and Vietnamese National Assembly for the coming period.

President Radi hosted a banquet in honour of Chairman An and his entourage in the evening./.
