Ideological-cultural work should be revamped
The conference stressed the ideological and cultural sector's great contribution to the country's socio-economic development, renovation process, national defence, security maintenance, Party building and national unity.
Phan Dien, Politburo member and permanent member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee, praised the achievements of the ideological-cultural sector. He said the sector this year should focus on disseminating the Resolution of the upcoming 10th Party Congress. He urged the sector to make greater contributions to national development, making cultural life an ideological foundation for the country's comprehensive development.
Concluding the conference, Nguyen Khoa Diem, Politburo member, secretary and head of the Ideological-Cultural Commission of the Party Central Committee, stressed the need to renew the ideological and cultural work. This year, the ideological-cultural sector should coordinate with relevant departments and branches to prepare for the organisation of Party congresses at different levels and the 10th National Party Congress, Diem said. He said the sector should develop its achievements and experiences of last year and 20 years' renovation and overcome its weaknesses and shortcomings to actively give advice to the Party and State on important cultural and ideological matters./.
