Vietnamese, Japanese legislative ties promoted
"The Japanese Government, the Diet, the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), and members of the Japanese-Vietnamese Friendship Parliamentarians Union (JVFPU) have made great efforts to develop these ties," Hoan said during his meeting with visiting JVFPU Honorary President and former LDP Vice President, Yamasaki Taku, in Ha Noi on January 11.
He expressed thanks to the Japanese Government for its valuable, effective assistance to Viet Nam's renewal and national construction, mentioning as an example Japan's decision to maintain its ODA at a high level for Viet Nam at the Consultative Group's meeting last December.
Mr. Hoan, who is also member of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV) Central Committee's Political Bureau, briefed his guest on the CPV's preparations for its 10th National Congress and at the same time expressed his hope that the relations between the two countries' governing parties, legislative bodies and governments would be intensified.
The Japanese guest said he was impressed with strong developments in Viet Nam and attributed those achievements to the CPV's clear-sighted leadership and that he wants to learn more about the CPV's organisational structure and activities.
He expressed his opinion that Viet Nam is becoming an attractive destination for Japanese investors, and pledged to do his utmost to further bolster the relations between the two countries' parties, parliaments and governments in the coming time./.
