Viet Nam ends WTO talks with Dominican Republic and Honduras

(VNA) - Viet Nam wrapped up bilateral talks on its entry into the World Trade Organisation (WTO) with the Dominican Republic and Honduras in Geneva, Switzerland on Mar. 29.

Memoranda of Understanding to this effect were clinched between Vietnamese Ambassador Ngo Quang Xuan, Head of the Vietnamese mission at the United Nations and international organisations in Geneva, and Dominican Ambassador Homeno Luis Harnender Sanchez, Head of the Dominican delegation and Brenda X. Napky Osorio, Provisional Head of the Honduran delegation.

Addressing the signing ceremony, Xuan highlighted Viet Nam's conclusion of negotiations with the two countries as a springboard to accelerate Viet Nam's bid for the WTO membership.

For their parts, the Dominican Ambassador and Honduran Representative expressed their hopes of further promoting cooperative ties with Viet Nam in the coming years and their hopes that Viet Nam will become a member of the WTO soon thanks to the support of the international community./.
